Dr. Brian Evans has participated in mission trips to Mexico, Haiti, Brazil, Bangledesh, Burkina Faso, Ecuador and Sierra Leone. His current work is now in Sierra Leone. His earlier trips were with groups that provided care to those in great need. However, once he returned home the work ceased.
He realized the value in training others to do the work during a trip to Ecuador with a group from I-Tech Ministries. He has fashioned his programs after theirs to provide training in dentistry and optometry.
Now the needs of many in Sierra Leone continue to be met in his absence because of the work of those whom he has trained.
The next phase is to train qualified individuals to assume the responsibility of the training so that the program can expand in order to meet the needs of many more.
Dr. Brian Evans received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1982 from Wheaton College. He received his D.D.S. Degree from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1986. Dr. Evans practiced in Rockford for one year before opening his current practice, Stratford Dental, in Bloomingdale in 1987. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the Christian Dental Society.
